Volvo has unveiled the world’s largest bus chassis in Rio. Christened the Gran Artic, the bus chassis is 30 metres long and can accommodate up to 300 people.

The bus chassis was unveiled at the FetransRio exhibition held in Brazil. Fabiano Todeschini, Head, Volvo Bus, Latin America, said, “This vehicle will provide more efficient transportation systems, offering a higher quality for the passengers and improved cost efficiency for the transport operators."

Gran Arctic has been designed keeping in mind the increasing demand of larger buses in the world. The bus can be a good option for countries using BRT (Bus Rapid Transport) corridors.

Fabiano continued, “We are leaders in vehicles for high-capacity transportation systems, Bus Rapid Transit, and now we introduce the world’s largest bus chassis. This vehicle will provide more efficient transportation systems, offering a higher quality for the passengers and improved cost efficiency for the transport operators.”

Volvo also unveiled Super Artic, its three axle 22m articulated bus. The bus is shorter than Gran Artic and offers space for 210 passengers.
