India’s PM Narendra Modi Intrigued by China’s Traffic-Straddling TEB

China’s straddling Transit Elevated Bus (TEB) which just went under a test run recently has now caught the eye of Indian Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi. It is a well-known that the spearhead of the current Indian government, Mr. Modi, is going all in to make India a developed country. This TEB has intrigued the Indian PM as this innovative vehicle promises to counter traffic, curb pollution and carry more number of passenger, thus helping address these issues that India shares with China.
To check the possibilities, the PM has asked road transport ministry to gather all the details and see if TEB is a viable option on Indian roads. However, because of TEB’s limited efficiency of taking turns on curved roads and requirement of at least two road lanes makes it too difficult for Indian roadways. The mega dimensions of TEB which are 22 meter in length and 7.8 meter wide can also be an issue.
However, in China’s Hebei province where TEB completed its 300 meter long trial run, people were in awe of it and are waiting eagerly to get on-board. Apart from India, other countries namely Indonesia and Brazil too have shown interest in the Transit Elevated Bus project.
