Japan’s DeNA Latest to Showcase its Electric Self-Driven Bus

Self-drive electric transport solutions are fast becoming the cult throughout the world. After IBM launched its automated passenger carrier Olli and China sent its TEB into production, its Japanese tech firm Dena which has forayed into the same niche. DeNA showcased its first all-electric self-driving bus EZ10 which would start giving services from July. It’ll be operational in Japan’s Chiba prefecture at a shopping facility.

The EZ10 self-driven bus is developed with assistance from the French start-up Easy Mile which focuses on automated passenger carrying solutions. The bus has seating capacity of 12 people and can go up to a maximum speed of 25 miles per hour or 40 km per hour. Nowadays, most of the city passenger transport is shifting towards pollution free and innovative solutions hence self-driven and hybrid buses are in demand. However, the safety of these automated buses is one of the major aspects to look after.

Commenting on EZ10’s safety, Mr. Hiroshi Nakajim, General Manager, DeNA Automotive Business, said in a press conference, “We take safety very seriously, because we worry that there may be a serious accident, we take double or triple safety checks and begin from there.”
