JBM Auto to Introduce 105 CNG Buses to Curb Rising Pollution in Delhi-NCR, Noida Region

Published On Mar 21, 2016By Prashant Talreja

In light of the perceived failure of the odd-even scheme, there are new channels being explored to reduce pollution and to improve public transport in the congested Delhi region.

The NCR-Noida and Greater Noida region is all set to receive over 100 luxury low-floor buses from JBM Auto. The Noida Metro Rail Company (NMRC) will be taking the delivery by April.

Manufactured locally at JBM's Kosi Kalan plant in UP, this bus wears a monocoque structure that ensures minimum weight and maximum strength. Powered by CNG, the vehicles emits significantly lesser carbon than any other diesel and petrol model. The capacity of the CNG set-up is a whopping 900-litres, while conventional models on the roads sport a mere 700-litres. As a result, this helps to boost efficiency, while at the same time cutting pollution for the city inhabitants.

Nishant Arya, executive director JBM Group, said, “These buses are equipped with the latest technologies to give passengers the most convenient and safe option of travel in today's time of high pollution and traffic jams. The design of these buses allows maximum visibility for both passengers and outsiders, which enhances the safety aspect to a great extent.”

The vehicle has a uniform low floor that enables physically challenged people to mount and deboard it easily. Many other sophisticated features will be integrated into the vehicle, including the global positioning system (GPS), CCTV cameras, public address system and panic buttons as well. Equipped with 35 seats, the vehicle comes with provisions to support wheelchairs through anchors. Along with this, the interior space has been enhanced ergonomically, ensuring optimal space for those standing.
