JBM Releases New 'CityLife' Range of Buses for Urban Transport

Published On Mar 26, 2016By Prashant Talreja

JBM Auto recently launched a new range of diesel buses for city transport, christened 'CityLife'. The model was produced at the new facility of JBM in UP, which has an annual capacity of 2000 units. The vehicle is meant to cater to towns and cities where CNG transport is not as readily available.

The bus is available with two engine options, including a Cummins ISBe 285 40 and Cummins ISBe 245 40. The first engine produces a power of 281bhp along with a torque of 1035Nm. The second engine nets figures of the same standard, with 245bhp of power and 1020Nm of torque. Both the units displace 6,692 cc, and come along with turbochargers and inter-coolers for the most advanced performance. Both engines are formatted under BS-IV norms, helping to enable cleaner and more efficient fuel intake for the vehicle. The bus's performance figures are matched by some sound inner dynamics and safety facilities. The vehicle is integrated with a Tech-Ride electronically controlled air suspension that neutralises all anomalies on the road. Along with this, the Anti-lock braking system and Electronic Brakeforce distribution program together cement stability on the road.

On the inside, the bus has been incorporated with many sound features that enable comfort for the occupants. This includes a passenger information system, a folding wheelchair ramp, mobile charging points for passengers, cantilever seats and armrests, stop request buttons, security cameras within and a flat floor. An independent front suspension further accentuates ease of travel. A kneeling mechanism with a travel range of up to 60 mm is also a stand-out feature of the model, helping to boost overall convenience for the driver and the occupants.
