Miskolc City Gets CNG Buses from MAN

MAN Lion's City CNG bus was launched in Miskolc earlier in the first week of March and the entire city turned out for the celebratory launch. It is an ultra-modern vehicle equipped with advanced technology that certainly adds to the renewal of the city that has a population of more than 160,000 people. MAN's city CNG bus was launched as a part of 'Smart & Green' initiative.
The newly launched MAN Lion's CNG buses comes with dual tone exterior paint with green and white. With such soothing appearance, the vehicles stand out against the other transport buses with dark blue and yellow scheme.
One of the local public transport operated in Miskolc MVK Zrt believes that these buses will help to reduce pollution to a significantly lower levels. Besides, they also run quieter than other noisy buses.
“We are proud of being able to contribute to the replacement of the bus fleet in Miskolc. The first MAN buses were delivered in 2002 and this was followed by the delivery of Neoplan Centroliner articulated buses in 2006. The latest order represents a new chapter both for MAN and for our good relationship with the city of Miskolc,” said Reinhard Faderl, CEO of MAN Truck & Bus.
This newly launched bus from MAN comes with a seating capacity for 30 and 42 people respectively and provides enough space for 54 to 110 passengers, respectively. This 12-meter long solo bus is powered by an advanced Euro 6 E2876 engine that churns out a power of 272 hp and maximum torque of 1050 Nm. While the articulated bus is equipped with a more powerful engine that unleashes 310 hp of power and 1250 Nm of torque. On the other hand, the transport operator has set up a gas fuel station near its office premises, where at least six commercial vehicles can be refueled at the same time.
