New 'Express Bus' Services Started in Abu Dhabi

Abu Dhabi's public transport authorities have started new 'Express bus' services in the city, which will run for every half an hour and will make an average of 72 trips daily.

The department of municipal affairs and transport authorities have said that this new bus service will be operated in about three new routes and it will provide a wider coverage of bus network for commuters in the region. The officials have also said that these routes were selected only after conducting a comprehensive study with the help of bus division on existing routes.

The city of Abu Dhabi will be connected to Mohammed Bin Zayed City Bus Station with the Express bus number L10. This new bus service will be a whole new experience for the passengers. In another route, the Shahama district will be connected with Shuhada Badar Mosque through the express bus service L20. The express bus service L40 will connect the city of Abu Dhabi to Baniyas West bus station.

The transport authorities have announced that paper tickets will no longer be sold in the city's suburb bus starting from April 22. Authorities have stated that passengers will have to make use of their Hafilat card for payment of ticket. The card will be sold across every major station in the region. The officials have also said that the Hafilat cards can also be purchased at AC bus shelters, customer care centers, ticket vending machines and shopping malls and hospitals.
