Olectra to supply 123 electric buses to Thane Municipal Transport Undertaking

The orders of fully electric buses comprise AC and Non AC buses in the 9 and 12-meter-long configurations.
Olectra Greentech, one of the top electric bus makers in India along with its partners, has received a larger order of buses that would further give a boost to electrification in India. The order from Thane Municipal Transport Undertaking includes a total of 123 fully electric buses, 55 will be 12-meter buses (45 air-conditioned and 10 non-AC). The remaining 68 e-buses will be 9-meter long (26 AC and 42 non-AC).

All the buses used for city transportation, the 12-meter buses are likely to come with a 200-km range and a total capacity of nearly 40 passengers with the driver, operating on longer city routes. Similarly, the 9-meter buses get close to 150-160 km of range with 30 passenger capacity. The buses would come fitted with the modern lithium-ion battery-run with quick charge features.
The bus contract will run over 15 years and Olectra Greentech will maintain them during the contract period. According to Olectra, the present fleet of e-buses that are already running on Indian roads have already covered over 7 crore km on Indian roads, underlining the superior performance, reliability, and operation successfully with several customers.
